One of the most common problems I come across with troublesome ecommerce websites is duplicate content. This tool can help you identify duplicate content as well as letting you check to see if another site has stolen your content.
Google and some of the other search engines take a dim view on duplicated content, that is the same text that appears on one or more websites. Often you will see well made and properly marketed websites that should be ranking well under performing in the search engines. If you do see this then one of the first thing to check is if the text on the website has been taken from, or is been used by another website.
To identify duplicate content you can use the Copyscape
online plagiarism checker, simply go to http://www.copyscape.com
and type in a page URL from your website. You will then be presented with a
page of results detailing other pages that share content with the page of the
URL you entered, you can even click threw to the page and see the duplicated
content in highlights.
